Exams are believed to be the best and the most accurate way of testing and estimating the students. However, many students don't agree with the following statement.

Often on the day of exam students are so stressed that in spite of the fact that they have been learning for a long time, the results are unsatisfactory. What is more, some of them may feel very bad due to the stress so they aren't able to prove that they posses the knowledge. So it is unfair to estimate the students who don't feel well to show all their abilities. There are also some students who are too lazy to learn, but they pass the exam, because they are lucky.

Moreover, before the exams students often learn a lot by heart just to pass the exam. Then they easily forget all the information. In this way they manage to pass the exam, but it doesn't prove their real knowledge.

In addition each teacher has his own method of assessing student's abilities. There are teachers who require a lot of details and they rarely give good notes. On the other hand, some who aren't demanding and give the good notes in spite of the fact that students haven't learnt well.

Summing up, the exams aren't the best method of estimating students. Sometimes they may be very unfair, especially for those who have learnt a lot, but they had a bad luck and fail. They don't prove the real students abilities. But on the other hand, they are a useful tool to motivate students.
