I was born and I live in Cracow. This is one of the most beautiful cities in Poland. It is also one of the oldest cities. Cracow is placed in the South of Poland. It is a great place to be seen. Cracow with all its moniuments and history invites turists from all over the world.

Cracow is perfect place for turists. It is very easy to get here. There is a small airport with the quick train which will bring you right to the center of the city. So, you don't need to worry that you will need to pay a large amount of money to the dishonest taxi drivers. If you don't like flying you can also come to Cracow by bus. There is a very nice, newly renovated bus station where you can find international and intercity buses. If you have got a travel - sickness and you don't like traveling by bus you can also use train. Next to the bus station there is a railway station. You will find there rail links with all Europe. It is very good mean of transport because it is not that expensive, it is very save. Of course you can also take your own car but you need to be aware that the parking lots in Cracow are very expensive.

The next very important thing is hotel. Cracow is very good prepared for the turists so there is also very good turist accomodation. Now, you need to decide if you want very exclusive and luxury hotel, which also means expensive. If you decide for the high housing standard you should look for such hotels in the center of the city. You can always make a reservation much earlier by calling the hotel or through the internet. If you prefer lower housing standard which is less expensive there is many hostels and bed and breakfasts all around the city. Of course the farer from the center the cheapest room. But you don't need to worry if you will get a room far from the center because the communication in Cracow is really very good. There are many buses, trams and private buses which will take you whereever you'd like to.

After you found the accomodation, I bet you would like to know what is worth seeing. Well, as you know Cracow was a capital of Poland for a very long time. It was a residence of polish kings and queens. There is a lot of historlical places and moniuments in Cracow. Fortunately not many of them were destroyed during the second world war. Firstly, you should see the market squere as it is the most characteristic place in Cracow. It is one of the biggest market squeres in Europe. There is a lot of small, lovely streets around the market where you can sit and relax in one of the thousands of cafes and pubs. In the center of the market squere you will find "Sukiennice". It used to be a market stall and nowadays you can buy there souvenires. There is also a National Museum where you can see the paintings of the well known polish painteres mostly from the XIX century. Next to the "Sukiennice" there is an old, Renaissance town hall. On the other side of the market squere there is one of the oldest churches in Cracow, Mariacki Church. Its beautiful Gothic architecture will take your breath away. If you go further along Grodzka Street you will come right up to Wawel. This is the castel, the residence of kings and queens, one the most important moniuments for Poland. Wawel is the complex of moniuments. It is placed on the hill under which is the famus cave of the dragon which was once killed by the shoemaker. On the hill you will find mostly Renaissance castel with the king's chambers, the royal treasures, cathedral, the archeological museum. in the cathedral you will find the royal tombs and the biggest bell in Cracow called "Zygmunt" in honour of the king Zygmunt III.

This is just the foretaste of those marvelous things you can see in Cracow. This wonderful city full of moniuments, cafes, pubs, theatres, cinemas and with beautiful surroundings is waiting for you. I am sure that you won't be bored in Cracow.
