In London there are numerous parks, green places and squares, where one can rest and enjoy nature. The bigest parks used to be connected and they were Royal Gardens in the past. Nowadays, they are available for everyone.
The eldest park in London is situated next to the Buckingham Palace and it is St James's Park. There are many small lakes, where geese, ducks and swans swim. People may feed them. This park was a property of Henry VIII, the king who is famous of cruelty and having six wives.
Another park is Kensington Gardens, where you can see the Albert Memorial. Queen Victoria founded this monument for her husband, who had died. It stands in front of the Albert Hall- the famous place, where the concerts of greatest musicians take place.
If you can, try to visit London in the spring time. The parks are then full of blooming flowers. The most beautiful park is in my opinion the Regent's Park. It is very smartly designed, there are many small gardens and lakes. There is also a zoo in this park. There is a great aviary designed so as to make the birds feel free and natural. There are more than 6000 different animals in that zoo and they are really worth seeing. Most popular are the pandas. They were brought from the Chinese mountains and they are kept there because the species is threatened with extinction. They live in London and there they even bear children. They are very beautiful. I love looking at them eating bamboo.
