There was one person in my family who did something really extraordinary. It was brother of my grandfather from my mother's family. He led a normal life when one day he abandoned everything and went to the Great Britain. I do not know many facts about him because the people who remembered him are dead and my parents do not know much about him. He was born in Rzeszów in 1916 in a large family. His father's name was Józef and mother's was Anna. He himself was named Adolf.

He was learning in the primary school in Rzeszów and later in the secondary school in the same town. When he finished his education he left his home and moved to the eastern part of Poland.

During the Second World War he left the country. He did it because he was running from the Russian communists who attacked Poland on the 17th of September. At the beginning he moved to France but when the war came there he decided to leave to England.

This journey was very difficult. He had to avoid German troops who invaded France. He could not go to England directly. He reached this country after a long time: he had to go to Spain and later catch a ship to Great Britain. In England he found a work in a factory which produced weapon. This job allowed him to live and save some money.

For the money he saved he bought a small house. He established himself in Great Britain and soon he lived a good life. He changed his work and started earning more money. Finally he married a British woman who's name was Rosie.

He met her on a bus stop and it was a love at first sight. They loved each other very much and soon got married. Adolf finally had a family in England - before he was living alone. Their marriage was a happy one. They had three children: Mike, John and Mary. He moved to his wife's house in London - it was after the war. With the help of his wife he changed the job again and they started to prosper. They became a middle class family.

Adolf died 10 years ago and it was 2 years after the death of his wife in an accident. Unfortunately, their marriage did not end as well as it started.
