Interviewer: Good morning,.
Adam: Good morning.
I: my name is Karolina and I'd like to ask you some questions concerning your occupation.
A: I'll be pleased to answer your questions.
I: When did you decide to become a rally driver?
A: It was about 10 year ago, when I was eighteen years old. I took then a driving test, passed it and got a new car for my eighteenth birthday from my parents. But, actually, I've always been very keen on cars and I've always been interested in car rallies. I remember that when I was a little boy I used to watch with my dad all TV programs about cars and car races.
I: What brand was the car you got for your birthday?
A: It was Polonez, a very old one. I still had problems with it and had to take it to the mechanic's quite often but I was proud that I had my very own car.
I: And what car do you drive now?
A: Now I drive Porsche -it's a very fast and safe car. I feel very confident when I'm behind the wheel-I know I can speed up and nothing will happen if I drive carefully.
I: What does your typical day look like?
A: Usually I get up quite early, go jogging, then have quick shower and breakfast and go to the garage. I spend with my instructor all morning and a part of the afternoon. We work to improve my driving techniques and then we go to a race track.
I: What do you like about your job?
A: I love that thrill and a surge of adrenaline which I feel whenever I speed up.
I: Are you also a fast driver in your private life?
A: No, never. When I drive somewhere with my family, I never drive fast. When I want to put my foot down, I always go to a special road. Normal streets are not place for car racing.
I: Do you think that your job is dangerous?
A: It is dangerous and there are a lot of accidents but, so far, I've never had any serious one. I just must concentrate on driving because sometimes it's just a fraction of a second that decides about your life. Besides, to protect my head in case of an accident, I wear a special helmet.
I: What do your plans for the future look like?
A: I'm going to be a rally driver for 3 or 4 more years and then I'm going to retire. It doesn't mean, however, that I'm going to withdraw from an active life. I'd like to train young racing drivers.
I: Thank you for the interview, it was really nice to meet you.
A: Thank you.
I: Good bye!
A: Bye!
