Dear Mrs. Black,
I would like to thank you for all you did for me. When I look at my childhood, I can see, how important you were for me. Although I didn't understand it as a child, I must say now, that you helped me a lot. You were a teacher, but you taught me not only history, but much more. You learned me how to think logically, how to draw conclusions and how to cooperate with others. As a kid, I didn't like it that you used to give me pieces of advice on how I should behave and what I should do. It took me a long time to realize, that all you said was true and really useful for me.
You must wonder, what made me write this letter. Well, last week I graduated from the university. I am a lawyer now and I am going to become a judge. Foe all five years of my studies I was thinking about all you taught me and I wanted to write to you, but I was a bit ashamed. Now I want you to know that you could be really proud of yourself- I was the best student in my year. And it was you who showed me how to learn and how to love history, logics and philosophy.
I hope you are doing well. I heard that you have retired and that you now give only private lessons. I hope you have good students. I am positive that many of them will remember you all their lives. You are someone really special.
That is all I wanted to write to you. I hope to hear from you too. When I will be in Warsaw, I will certainly want to visit you.
Yours sincerely
MM
