I am a real movie freeq and I love watching films. I've seen hundreds of films and it is always difficult to say, which one is my favorite. But recently I saw a movie, which I like exceptionally. It's title is "La Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain". It is a French film, made by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. I find it difficult to say, to what category of movies it can be classified, but generally it is said to be romantic comedy.

The main character- Amelie- lives in Paris, on Montmarte. She seems to be a normal young woman, working in one of the many Parisian cafes as a waitress. What makes Amelie special is that she has the gift to make people happy. We can see her helping her unhappy neighbor or pairing off Gorgette with Joseph. She finds a way to defend Lucien- who sells vegetables- against her evil employer- Collignon. Amelie is also busy with looking for her eccentric father. And apart from all that she is looking for her own happy love.

Amelie meets a man, whom she find interesting, but she doesn't even talk to him. His name is Nino (played by Mathieu Kassovitz). One day he looses a photo album, which Amelie finds. The girl finds out, who it belongs to and decides to make several tests for Nino. Doing this, she falls in love with him.

The actress, who played Amelie (Audrey Tatou), is really amazing. She is very convincing and her play makes people laugh and cry. I find that film excellent. It is different from any other film I've seen. It presents a completely new and fresh view on love in contemporary world. Through Amelie's eyes, the audience can see how beautiful the world is, can enjoy small and simple things. The viewer may take this story as a fairy tale, but he certainly would want it to be true.
