Among all the actors of the world there is one who is my favourite. His name is Tom Hanks. He is known around the world and I admire him also.
His date of birth is 9th July 1956 and he was born in Concord in California. I think that he is one of the best if not the best of Hollywood actors. Of course if we look at details we may find that there are better actors than him. Leonardo Di Caprio may be more handsome, Arnold Schwarzenegger better built. Pierce Brosnan can shot and fight better and Antonio Banderas is a greater gun-fighter. However, if we look at Tom Hanks as a whole person he does not have competitors. It is impossible to leave a cinema when he appears in the movie.
In movies Tom Hanks usually appears as nice character who can be liked from the first time we saw him. He played many different characters: an astronaut, a modern Robinson Crusoe, a soldier and a not too wise guy with a golden heart. All of his roles are very memorable and it is very hard to name the best one. The movies in which he appeared and which are his best are: "Apollo 13", "Saving Private Ryan", "You've Got Mail", "The Green Mile", "Philadelphia", "Forest Gump", "Sleepless In Seattle" and "Cast Away". He also dubbed the characters in animated movies: 'Toy Story" and its sequel "Toy story 2".
The first Oscar he won was for his appearance in the movie "Philadelphia" in which he played a lawyer Andrew Beckert who is infected with AIDS. The second Oscar he get for his role of the main character in the movie "Forest Gump" directed by Robert Zemeckis. Both movies received also Golden Globe Awards. He received many awards for his role in the film by Steven Spielberg "Saving Private Ryan". These included Golden Globe, SAG Award and Academy Awards. His latest award was a Golden Globe Award and 5th Oscar in his life for the role in a movie "Cast Away."
Despite the fame, numerous awards and money Tom Hanks remain the same man as he used to be. He is an actor with class. He is a very good actor and his appearance in movies always catches attention. Moreover he is a very kind guy and you would want to have him as a friend. Of course sometimes his position makes him behave strangely but that it what everybody would do.
