The world today is under assault of people. This is the most terrifying piece of news. People are not friends to the natural world. We have destroyed many species of animals and plants. We are responsible for the water and air contamination. We are responsible for acid rains and the hole in the ozon layer.
This all is the result of people's rule over the centuries. It is amazing that we are indifferent to destroying our mother and breadwinner which is the Earth. Nowadays we have to face serious problems connected with environment and there is not much time to lose. We have to remember that if we kill our planet it will mean death for us.
One of the biggest problem is the air contamination. It causes many problems and without air we are not able to exist on the planet. Nowadays, we emit to atmosphere only pollution which causes changes in it. The air contamination is the cause of destroying the ozon layer which was protecting us against UV radiation. The exhaust fumes, smog, carbon oxide, sulphur oxide are responsible for acid rains which destroy the life in seas and oceans, trees and even our cities and towns. The fog which is created of smog and fumes is working like a quilt - it makes Earth warmer. It is called the greenhouse effect which causes the change of the climate and melting the ice bergs.
Another problem which is also very important is water pollution. We are not able to live without water. We need to drink it but how can we do that if it is more and more contaminated with every hour. Very often people treat seas as a dumps. The poisonus substances are threatening the stocking of the sea so many species of fish are in danger of exctinction. Moreover there are still lethal disasters happening like tanker accidents and oil spill. On the other hand people consume great quantities of water and we don't think much about the future.
If this was not enough, we are cutting down forests which are source of oxygen. Not only are we polluting the trees with acid rains but also we cut them down. The rain forests are endangered. The animals are deprived of their home. The trees are being used as timber, fire wood. Deforestation is serious problem because the trees don't grow in one year. We need to wait hundred of years to plant and grow big forest.
Furthermore, we are killing also animals. Cutting down the trees means death to animals. There are so many species which have already extincted. But this is not fault of deforestation or pollution. There are many poachers among people who are killing animals just for pleasure or for money. Poachers are killing because there are still people who would buy a fur os horns from them. For example there are so many elephants killed every year because of ivory. In not very long time we will be able to watch animals only in zoos.
This are only few problems of our environment. All of them are connected together. One problem is making another. The worst thing is that the population is still growing and that means more pollution unless something will be done. If we will destroy our environment the survival of mankind will be impossible. There is still time to change the future but we have to work together. There are many things which can be done. We can do the recycling by sorting the household rubbish. We can collect the recycling paper, we don't have to use the plastic bags. We can walk more to reduce the emition of fumes. We can create more national parks to save the animals from extinction.
