Michael Peter Balzary is a famous musician. He was born in Melbourne, Australia, on 16th October 1962. when he was four years old, his parents divorced and Michael together with his mother, went to New York. A year later, Michael's mother remarried to Walter Urban, who was a musician. In 1972, his family moved to Los Angeles.
Balzary grew up in the family of musicians. From his early childhood he had much interest in music. As a kid, he started to lean playing the trumpet. Michael's friends gave him nickname "Flea" at this time. When he was a teenager, he dreamt of becoming a famous actor, but he abandoned this idea.
When he was only 6, he went to Fair Fagot School, where he got to know Anthony Kiedis. At the beginning, they didn't like each other. They were quarrelling often. But after some time, young Michael and Anthony became real friends. They thought that it would be impossible to live without each other. Their goal was to become famous musicians. They dreamt of having their own band.
For several years, they used to play with other groups, like Anthem, Los Faces or Fear. But it was never enough for them. Michael and Anthony wanted to create something new and original. One day they met Jack and Dave, who also played music and had similar ideas for future. In 1983, they established their own band. They had difficulties with finding good name for it, but finally Michael chose the best one- Red Hot Chili Peppers.
When Michael was 23, he met a beautiful girl in California. It was Loesha. Few months later, they got married. Michael tattooed himself with his beloved name. In 1987, Loesha and Michael became parents. They had a daughter Clara. Although they seemed to love each other, their marriage didn't last long.
Michael Peter Balzary is a popular musician. He performs together with other music stars (like Alanis Morisette or Jane Addiction). He proved to be a good actor as well. He played in movies like: The Chase, Liar's Poker, Psycho, The Big Lebowski and many others.
Michael records not only with bands, but also alone. He is a guitarist. He received several awards, and was chosen the guitarist of the year in 1996. In my opinion, Red Hot Chili Peppers make really good music. Moreover, they are original and follow their own path. Their music is loved not only by young, but also by older people.
