1. The worst holiday ever

Last holiday I flew to sunny and hot Tunisia. I spent two weeks with my mother in a hotel in Hammamet.

Since we arrived we both felt in love with this lovely place and with the natives. Everything was excellent: the weather was perfect, food served in the hotel was tasty and the sea very clean and so blue. We were accommodated in a bungalow. If we opened the door or the window, we could see the most colourful and beautiful garden I had ever seen. I couldn't believe how many various spices of trees, plants and flowers grew in that garden.

The smell was amazing especially in the evenings so we usually sit on the hotel's balcony and relax with some glasses of wine. We used to enjoy the atmosphere till the late hours in the night. But that unlucky night we forgot to lock the door. And when we got up the next morning, we noticed that all our money and the jewellery had been taken away. Somebody had stolen them. It was such bad luck. We were anger, but we couldn't do anything and nobody also could.

2. Does the generation gap exist?

I think that the gap between the young generation and the older one has been existing for a long time. However, it is said that some differences may merge. This statement was confirmed many times. In human relation the differences are very important and they are said to be attracted each other.

Today it is said that young people have completely different view on life than their partners have. But I know some people who think completely different. They think that there are a lot of similarities between "the old" and "the young" and both these groups have a lot in common. However I think that the distance between these two generations will always exist. They have different hobbies, interests and views. This kind of difference shouldn't anybody surprise. Thus they wear different clothes and are fond of completely other kind of music. The ways of spending free time differ themselves. The elders like clam activities such as fishing or watching TV, whereas the young people prefer discos, loud music and sport. For young people the most important are entertainment, friends and music, the older generation take care of their health, family and religion.

To sum up, I think that the differences between these both generations are huge and they will always exist. We can't say whether it is good or wrong. The gap between these generations is too big to be passed over. The young generation can't be compared with the older one, but they can follow the examples of the older people instead.

3. Music's impact on our lives.

There are a lot of types of music: beginning with the classic music through the pop music and metal or hard rock. I think that almost everyone likes listening to the music. For some of us music is the whole life. Thanks to the music we can relax and have a good time. After the busy day spent at work or at school, we can have a rest listening to the favourite artist. In this way we can forget about the daily problems. I think that the music influence on our lives is huge. It can be helpful when we feel tired or depressed. Music can reflect what there is in our souls. Someone who loves listen to the romantic songs is probably a very romantic person. The one who enjoys listening to hard rock or metal seems to be rebellious or anxious. I strongly agree with the statement that "Music smoothes the customs". It has a great effect on us: it may calm us down or make us angry. Music exists as long as the mankind itself and it hope it will exist for much longer no matter how the technique will develop.

Music has been changing within the years. The music style and interests also have been changed a lot. Music was modulated thanks to the modern techniques development. Today we can choose what we want to listen. There is the variety of choice: from classic or tribal music to modern techno. We can't predict what people will listen to for thirty years. But I think that I will be something completely new and different. Moreover, I think it will also affect on our lives as it effects today. I can't even imagine the world without any music, because it wouldn't be the same.

4. Why English is called an international language?

English has become an international language. It is used in the international communication, tourism and trade. At the airports all over the world we can hear the messages in English. In hotels there is information written also in English. About the newest developments of technology we are got known in means English.

It seems that English is the most useful language in the world and everywhere we can communicate in English. It is spoken all over the world and belongs to the official languages in the United Nation and European Union. What is more, English is simple and it isn't difficult to learn it. Many computers programs are made in English and a lot of information spreading through the Internet is announced in English, so to understand most of them it is important to know this language.

Today if you want to travel a lot, you don't manage without the basic knowledge of English. In the era of globalization it seems to be impossible to have business contact if you don't speak English well. If you want to start your professional career, you must be aware that for many posts English skills are required.

5. What are the reasons of violence among young people?

Today young people are usually angina everything. They are used to rebel everything. They often reject all the values that were donated them by their parents. They want to be autonomous. It is said that most criminals are born in pathological families. It isn't quite true. I think that many potential criminals come from the wealthy families. They try to protest against their parents. What is more, they are very spoilt, because they have everything they want. Young rich children think that they are allowed to do everything they want. I think that the way to prevent crime among young people is to spend more time with the young people. Their parents should talk to them as often as possible and try to understand them. In addiction, I think that there should be more places where the young people could spend their free time. In this way we could avoid some crimes.

6. Do you prefer shopping in supermarkets or in smaller shops?

Today it seems that shopping isn't our necessity, but it is a kind of hobby and pleasure. We often go to huge supermarkets to but the stores for a whole week. These kinds of stores are very convenient. They are self-service. We can get there by car, park in the large car park and then take a basket or a trolley. We put everything we need inside the basket. After the shopping when we are tired we can eat something in one of the numerous restaurants and cafes. There is the possibility of paying by credit card or cheques if you don't have enough cash with you. If don't like the products you have bought, you may return them within the week.

I should mention about sales and bargains which are very popular among the clients. In this time you can buy some products in the lower prices or you will be given the one piece. On the other hand, some people claim that shopping in such big supermarkets may be annoying because of the wide range of products, which can be confusing.

7. Computers in our lives.

Computers are an indispensable part of our lives. A first computer was invented in 1948 and since then they have changed many fields of our daily activity. They are useful at work, during studying, in businesses or in scientific researches. Computers have a huge impact on the development of the science and the technology. Thanks to computers the complicated mathematical calculations can be done within a minute. Computers are helpful in data gathering, different kind of tests and analysis. Computer applications can be helpful in many factories where are involved in controlling systems or in analyzing processes. What is more, they are also used to produce certain goods and can be the integrated parts of the goods such as cars, trains, ships, weapons, cash registers or machine tools. Computers are often used in education. In many educational institutions they have various purposes. At first, they are useful in fulfilling administrative functions, for example data recording or book-keeping. They part in teaching is becoming more important. Classes of computer science are offered to students to educate them how to use the computer. This useful role of computers is still increasing and we are becoming more dependant to them. Our life and future is based on the computerization and we aren't able to stop the development of the technology.

8. What do you think about television? Is a form of entertainment or just a waste of time?

Some people spend too much time watching television programs. It seems that television is one of the most important things in our lives. It is very difficult to estimate whether the television is a good invention or a bad one. Television has some advantages as well as disadvantages. I would like to tell about some most important aspects of television. First of them, television is one of the most important sources of information. Television provides also a lot of entertainment. Television offers the variety of channels and very one will find something interesting. If you aren't interested in watching documentaries or science programs, you can choose a one of movies shown in television. Thanks to the television you can have the newest information from every part of the world. Television is also the cheapest form of spending free time. Many people spend their evenings by watching movies on TV. On the other hand, there are some disadvantages of watching TV for many hours. Some people are addicted to television and their lives often are dependant to TV-schedule. Every family member watches TV, while eating and doing simple homework. Some people want to spend weekends in front of TV screen, instead of going out to walk in a park or in a wood. I have mentioned the most obvious aspects of television. It can be the source of information and entertainment as well as a harmful addiction. We should do everything not to become addicted and avoid watching TV all day long.

9. Things that money cannot buy.

It seems that money is the most important in the modern world. I think that people without money have very difficult lives. But some of us forget that money isn't so important and there are such things as successful family life and friends which are the most important and money can't buy them. Without love and friendship our lives would be senseless. Some people who are rich often suffer form loneliness and depression. We should be aware that money can't buy friends. However, every one of us doesn't want to have some financial problems, because without money the life conditions are getting worse. We should bear in mind that money can't buy everything.

10. How would be world look like in 2050?

The world will change a lot in the next fifty years time. There won't be any plants and trees. We will see only the huge factories. I think there will be many big cities with the giant skyscrapers. The villages will disappear. We will have to eat pills instead of the real food. The pills will replace the food and they will contain every necessary ingredient. Unfortunately, the wild animals will become extinct and we will see them only in zoos.

Towns will be full of air cars and space ships. People will be afraid of going outside without any important reasons, because of the air containment and the crimes. They will do shopping through the Internet. Children won't be attending any schools. They will be taught by computers at home and they will take some pills which will help them to gain the knowledge. Every daily activity will be taken over by robots. They will clean our houses, produce everything, design buildings, teach foreign languages and cook. Many medicines for every serious disease will be invented, so there won't be any illnesses. Our houses will be equipped with the most modern technology. Everything will be controlled by computers. They will take care about our security, mood and will fulfil all our duties.

11. The most embarrassing moment ever.

It happened couple months ago. On 10th May a new shopping centre was opened in my town. Every citizen went there to admire this huge modern centre. The centre was named "New World". Thousands of people were going there to look for lower prices and take part in the competitions which were organized on the first day. There were a lot of beautiful shops and modern boutiques. Everything was very expensive, so almost every one went to the supermarket to buy some necessary products. The supermarket was huge and full of different products. The shelves were laden with all these delicious goods. There were a lot of products which weren't available in other shops. Every one was very surprised. I hadn't seen so many brand-name products ever before. Different kinds of chocolate were arranged in small pyramids and there were houses made of cakes. Various kinds of fruit were sliced in artistic shapes. There were also shelves with toys, modern equipment and clothes. The managers of the supermarket was walking among the shelves and asked customer how they find the supermarket. I was standing between two shelves full of different kind of glass products and I was admiring the beautiful glass vases and porcelain platters, when suddenly somebody next to me shouted: "Excuse me!!!!!!". So I turned around very quickly and I knocked off the glass vase. It fell down and the vases standing nearby also fell down. One of these vases hurt the manager. By accident I destroy the whole shelf of glass dishes. The bang of falling down dishes was very noisy. Every one stopped and observed the whole situation. I was very embarrassed and I didn't know what to do. I wished I vanished into thin air. I was so ashamed that I didn't go there any more.

I needed to relax, so I took my dog for a long walk. Then I had to turn my computer on and finish my work.

12. You have just come back from holiday. Tell your friend about it.

Once I decided to buy a trip to West Africa. I had to fly to Dakar, which is the capital of Senegal, with the change in Madrid. Dakar is located on the Cape Verde peninsula. There are a lot of modern buildings, which contrasted with big African markets and the poverty on the streets. I was delighted, because I took so many photos there. I like taking photos! The next day I went by train took to Mali, which is one of the driest region in Africa. This trip belongs to the worst things I have ever taken part. My "neighbour" on the next seat was... a lamb. It was yawning all the time and stank badly. When I toured Mali, which was full of black businessmen and poor people suffer from famine on the streets, I caught a taxi and decided to go to Burkina-Faso. It wasn't expensive! The next two days I spend in the train going to Abidjan, which is the capital of the Ivory Coast. There I was offered to buy almost every kind of souvenirs. I negotiated the prices with black people, which was quite funny. There were a lot of loud Arabs, who didn't seem to be friendly for me.
