The life on Earth is very old. First life forms appeared on our planet long before people. It is nature who created us. This is the most important reason why we should respect environment. Thank to it we can walk and breath. The nature is giving us food, water, life. So why are people destroing their mother? Nowadays we have got a lot problems with pollution of environment. People just forgot that without nature we will die.
Firstly, there is a big problem of cutting down the rain forests. I think this is one of the most important problem because thanks to it we can breath. Trees are responsible for oxygen which is the most important component of air. The timber companies are cutting the trees and they use it as fire wood, furniture, etc. Deforestation causes another problem. That is to say, the house of animals is destroyed. They have nowhere to go so more and more species are extincting. Because of cutting down the trees also the climate is changing. The rain is washing out the soil so the new trees cannot be grown. In the place of forests there are deserts now.
Secondly there is a very big problem of water contamination. We treat seas and oceans as dumps. There are a lot of pollutions like industrial sewage, biological sewage and many other. Very often there are accidents of tankers which causes oil - spill disaster. Oil slick on water causes death of many species of birds and the lack of oxygen under water causes death of organic life.
Thirdly, there is a heavy air pollution. Every year we hear the warnings against the hole in the ozon layer. This is also the result of people's acts. The exhaust fumes and smog cause the global warming and the greenhouse effect. The icebergs begin to melt due to the warming. The contamination of air is also causing that there is acid rain raining. It causes death of environment and it destroys buildings.
In my opinion people should start doing something before it will be too late. We should think about environment and reduce pollution. I hope that one day instead of patrol, oil and coal we will use the solar energy. It will help reducing air contamination. We have to be more eco - friendly if we want to live.
