While I was doing my homework yesterday, I heard Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven" on the radio. It is an old and romantic song. This song took me back to my innocent and sweet childhood. I was listening to this song and all my memories arose, so I closed my eyes and the flat I had lived when I was a child appeared. I saw every detail of this flat.
When I closed my eyes I was walking through the hall and passing the kitchen on the left side. The kitchen was cosy and well-equipped. There was a big wooden table, at which we used to eat. On the table there was a red tablecloth. On the right side there was the cupboard. There was a big window, from which the amazing view spread. There was also the hidden door to the small larder, where some preserves were gathered. I remembered the smell of this food, when I went there. As a child I loved pretending that I was cooking. My grandmother always gave me a lot of accessories such as whisk, ladle and rolling pin to play.
The next room in my childhood flat was a huge living room where guests used to sleep when they were invited. The furniture was ancient and there was a mirror on the wall, which gave the effect that the room was bigger than it really was. On the glittering parquet floor there was a brown carpet. The furniture was quite massive and made from dark oaken wood. On the shelves there was a porcelain set and a small matches' house. It was made by my grandfather and was located on the top of shelves. In this room the parties were set up and a lot of guests arrived. The room reminded me the family parties. There the whole family was in full force. I was very nice times.
Now I was approaching my room. It wasn't big, but it was quite unique. I arranged on my own everything there. I like spending time there. When I imagined the room, my innocent years came. Every corner of that room is now connected with some memories. The walls in my room were painted white. There were some posters and pictures on the wall. In the first of them there was a young lady playing the violin. She had golden curls and she was dressed in a blue dress and had a white bonnet. She was my beloved grandmother. On the other side of the room was an old clock. The window was big and there were with curtains with red ribbons.
My bed was quite big and it was located in the middle of my room. It was soft and comfortable. There was also a blue coverlet with red flowers on it. The coverlet was very faded and some flowers were barely visible. I still have got this coverlet and I used it during cool nights in winter. There was also the striped tiger embroidered on my pillow. Over the bed there was a poster with the pair on it. There were some toys lying on the floor. There was a cosy carpet lying on the floor, on which I used to lie and read the books. I used to watch through the window, which was quite big and I saw the whole garden.
Apart from the bed there were also the wooden desk and a black chair. On the desk there were a lot of books and a small lamp. The chair was a swivel one and it spun around. I used to do my homework at this desk. There was also a romantic dressing table with the huge mirror in my room. There were my cosmetics and small bottles of perfume. I love sitting there and doing make-up. There was also a lovely jewellery box, which I was given when I was sixteen. I love listening to the radio, so there was a hi-fi set in my room. My room was very peace and quite one. When I was tired and I wanted to be alone, I closed the door and nobody disturbed me.
When the song was over, my whole image vanished. I had to get back to my homework. My childhood was gone and I found myself in completely different place.
