Cooper was born in Bristol in 1953. As he was 11 years old he entered the High School in Liverpool. As a teenager he dreamt of becoming a doctor and cure people. However, he also wanted to travel around the world. He went for his journey- he worked as a volunteer in a small town near Calcutta. After few years of traveling, he returned to England and entered the King's Collage in London to study medicine there. After several years, in 1982 Cooper was a junior doctor. After one year of working, he fell in love with a beautiful girl from Poland- Marianne Pilska. They decided to get married and move back to Poland in 1984. A year later, their daughter was born. In 1988 the family decided to move to Torun. Leslie got a job there in Children's Hospital. Leslie and Marianne have a son- Maciej, who was born in 1989. Their family has been living in Toruń up till now and they are really happy.
