Reading is among my favourite activities. Whenever I have some spare time I go to the library to borrow a new book and then spend hours reading it. Recently, I have read a very interesting novel which I would like to recommend to teenage readers, especially girls. The book is called "Young Lady of America".
Would you ever think that your life can change just in a second? Probably, you would not, however this is possible. This is what happened to Shirley Poppins, a teenage girl from Chicago. By accident, she saves the US president's son's life when he is nearly driven over by a taxi. Next, she prevents the escape of the robbers who have just robbed a bank -again, she does it by accident. She becomes the star of all media and a national hero. When she is invited to the White House to be decorated for her courage, she meets the president's son again and they fall in love with each other...
When I started reading the book I thought it was going to be another sickly sweet love story, however, I was wrong. The novel is very interesting and funny, full of unusual adventures. It is an ideal book for long and sad winter evenings as a bit crazy Shirley and all her surreal adventures will make you curl up in laughter.
