My favorite sculpture is 'PRIMAVERA', made by Marcello Maschievini in 1968. Maschievini was an Italian artist, born in 1906 and he died in 1983. The sculpture represents a woman, who is compared to nature. In my opinion, the author wanted to remind people that on the world there live many human beings and that the other person is a subject to be thought of by all of us. But there are also other possibilities of explaining the meaning of the sculpture. It might be an ideal woman, represented by wonderful plants. They have the same characteristics- they are both strong and able to protect themselves from many different difficulties. The trees in many cultures are compared to women. When they grow older, they become more and more beautiful and are more useful and fruitful. People have special respect for older trees and older women as well. In my opinion 'Primavera' represents strength, beauty, immortality of nature and people (especially women). The artist, who made it, wanted to tell us that we are only part of the world of nature. Perhaps he considered women, who look naturally (not wearing make-up and fashionable clothes) most interesting. People watching the sculpture cannot reach an agreement, if it represents a woman or nature. But is it really important to decide, who is right?

The sculpture reminds me a tree surrounded by other trees and grass. The tree itself is not very high. The grass under it is quite small- the tree seems to make too big shadow and the grass has not enough sunlight to grow. The tree itself grows in the shadow and that is why it cannot grow too tall. Perhaps contemporary women are similar to this tree- they have not enough energy and freedom to develop all their skills and their personalities.
