People have various lifestyles, depending on their characters, personalities and, most of all, on their jobs. Some people do physical work, others have posts in offices or schools. There are jobs which involve a lot of physical effort as it is in the case of miners or builders. Other people who work as tour guides, interpreters or couriers on package tours abroad have a great opportunity to meet interesting people and visit famous and often exotic tourist spots all over the world.
One thing that is unavoidably connected with our lifestyles is stress. Nowadays, people are so absorbed in their jobs that they often forget that rest and relaxation are necessary for us to work effectively. There are jobs that demand from people spending long hours in the office, often staying in their offices overtime. Those people usually suffer from stress and, what is more, neglect their families as they do not have time to play with their children or to take them on trips. Others are dissatisfied with their jobs and complain that they have no opportunity to fulfil their potential or to develop professionally. The reason is that they simply do not like their work. There are also those who do what they have always dreamed about but they can hardly earn their leaving as their earnings are insufficient. Of course, work is not only about money but also about having sense of self-fulfilment and about satisfaction. Nevertheless, salary is one of the most important factors that influence our choice of profession.
Today it is a difficult decision for a young man to choose what he will study at the university and what his future profession will be. The choice is often a matter of following either your heart so that your future job would give you satisfaction or following your reason and choosing the most lucrative profession, not necessarily the one you will like. Because of the unemployment problem and tough competition in the labour market many people decide to complete additional courses to have the best educational background. The knowledge of foreign languages is also a chief asset that often increases our chances of lucrative job.
Nowadays, marketing and management gives the best possibilities of employment as they develop very rapidly. Many companies search for good marketing managers and offer high salaries. However, many people cannot find employment in Poland and they decide to go abroad and work there. Very often they do not work in their profession but do hard physical job which does not give them any satisfaction but provides them with good earnings. Working abroad is especially popular among young people who often spend their holiday working in foreign countries. In this way they not only earn their own money which allows them to be independent from their parents but also they improve their command of foreign languages. Besides, they also have a chance to experience new culture and to do some sightseeing.
Summing up, an ideal job is the job which does not demand from you devoting your whole time to it, which gives you satisfaction, pleasure and self-fulfilment and which also provides you with handsome salary. However, in order to have such an excellent post we must have very well educational background. Our future lifestyle depends on our ambition and qualifications but also on what occupies the highest position in our hierarchy of values- money and career or family.
