Last month I read a very interesting book. It was "Zew krwi", and the author of this book is Nancy Collins. I found this book really amusing. When I started reading it, I simply couldn't do anything else.
The story tells about Skinner Code- a young boy, who looks very different from others. People around him don't like him and constantly make fun of him. Skinner decides to move to another city after finishing high school. He enters the University of Arkansas and wants to live in this city. Unfortunately, at the same time his mother gets very ill and dies. Few weeks after her death, Skinner's father in law commits suicide, because he doesn't want to live without his beloved wife. The young man is all alone now. However, from his family's friend, who is a lawyer, he gets to know that the woman who died was not his biological mother. All his life, Skinner had no idea about that. He is extremely surprised to learn the truth. It comes out that his mother adopted him, when he was few months old. Skinner decides to look for his biological mother. He starts his journey to Indiana.
There are many troubles, which Skinner meets on his way. As the result of strange coincidences, he is put to jail. This is, where he learns much about himself. He discovers that when he is in real danger, he changes into werewolf. He is extremely cruel and he kills some people in the jail. Afterwards, he escapes from there. He meets people, who are similar to him and he joins the group of werewolves. They live together and kill normal people.
Skinner becomes completely different than he was before. One day he arrives to the town, where only werewolves live. He discovers further facts from his and his biological family's life. His view of the world changes again.
Many people would like to have some special or magic qualities. They dream of having power over others. It was similar with Skinner, when he was young and always laughed at. Reading the book, you may discover, that you want to be like the main character- powerful and stronger than normal people. You dream to be a leader of others at least for a few days of your life.
The book is very scaring and thrilling. There are many violent scenes. The world of werewolves described there is magical and mysterious. The book makes you suspicious. You may start to look for unusual forces in yourself and in the world you live in.
I would recommend this book to the people, who are keen on the stories about witches, vampires and the world of dark magic. It makes you scared, but at the same time- amazed.
