Although fifteen years is not a really long period of time, in Polish towns much has changed. It is important to notice the quick economical development. The changes that have taken place there seem to be really great.

In 1995 there was a big drop of inflation. Afterwards, there appeared an opportunity for many people to start their own businesses. Many international companies started to open the small offices in Polish towns. Thanks to that many people managed to get well paid jobs. The local societies might develop and improve their standards of living. In many towns new buildings of flats, hotels and private houses were built. More and more people could afford better cars and more expensive holidays.

Moreover, all technological inventions became available for us. Such devices as computers, notebooks, mobile phones and other were introduced into our market. Nowadays people in villages and small towns have almost as many computers as those living in big cities. What seems most important is the availability of Internet. There are less and less places, where people have no access to Internet these days. In my opinion, these changes are really positive. They make our lives simpler and thanks to that people have better satisfaction of their lives.

As people were getting more and more money for their work, they wanted to buy better products and services. The goods in the shops started to be of better quality and, at the same time, more expensive. It made the shopkeepers earn more. The local societies started to live on a higher level.

Summing up, the last fifteen years was the time of large changes and development of small towns in Poland. It is difficult to imagine how would small towns look like, if those changes had not appeared. Would it be nice to lie there now?
