Many people claim that advertising is very important for economy and marketing. It is said to be useful in making more money. Nevertheless, I think that advertising has both good and bad aspects. First of all, it is difficult to imagine contemporary economy without advertising. It is used to make the customers buy some products. It makes people interested in them, therefore the sale rises.
Another thing is that some customers say that advertises make them buy things they don't need. It is also believed that advertises are not objective. They don't show the truth about a product, but only advantages of it. Commercials on TV are disturbing, and make people nervous. It is impossible not to watch them. They disturb the film at the most important scenes.
People get bored with advertisements. When some product is presented everywhere and you see it whatever you do, customers stop liking it. However, watching advertisements can be very funny. Well made commercials can be interesting. Big billboards on the buildings, shops and magazines make the streets colorful. Thanks to them, there is more money in TV, radio or press.
There are many advertises which have effective slogans. The slogans are usually easy to remember and funny. People remember them and repeat them often. It is popular to use famous people to attract costumers' attention. Especially sports products are advertised in such way. The example could be Michael Jordan, one of the best and certainly the best known basketball player, who advertises NIKE. The company certainly had to give him much money. But such personalities make the companies better known. People want to be similar to them and want to have the same products as they do.
Advertisements are effective, when they affect our emotions. There are many advertisements based on love-stories, it often happens that there are babies or baby-animals presented in them. But those who make advertisements appeal also to our reason. They give us information, which sound wise and reliable, even if we don't understand them well. The experts also use different kinds of tricks. There are special words that attract consumers, for example- better, recommended by an expert, new, especially for you. Other offer us discounts- "buy a toothbrush and you will get the soap free". There are also especially effective prices- something costs 99,99 zl instead of costing 100,00 zl.
Summing up, in my mind, we always have to remember that we have a right to choose ourselves. We have to make the decisions reasonably. The advertises can be helpful, but they can be also deceitful. Moreover, they make us want more than we need, therefore we are in bad moods. Sometimes it would be easier to live without them.
