Dear Melanie
Thanks a lot for your last letter and for the postcard from Edinburgh. I'm very glad about the excellent results of your school leaving exams. Congratulations! I'm sure you'll be admitted to the university you've chosen.
As you remember, I'm studying law at Jagiellonian University and yesterday I passed my last exam so now I have holidays until October. In three-month time I'm beginning the third year of my studies. It has always been my dream to become a lawyer and work for a big international company and now I'm very close to make my dream come true. I know that foreign languages a very imortant nowadays, therefore I'm not only working on improving my English but I aslo started to learn Italian three months ago.
My eldest sister, Kasia, is graduating from a university with MA degree in literature next month. Last week she announced that she and her boyfriend Mateusz are egaged. We weren't very surprised because they've been a couple for over five years. The wedding is going to be in May next year.
Another news is that I've become aunt three months ago. My brother's wife, Aneta, gave birth to lovely twins who are called Michał and Basia. My parents are on top of the world because of the babies. My mother visits Aneta every day to help her to look after the twins and my dad talks only about them all the time. By the way, my dad will retire next year. He is a very active person so he wasn't happy about the prospect of becoming a pensioner and having nothing to do. However, after the birth of his first grand children, he changed his mind about the retirement. Now he says that as a pensioner he'll have a lot of time for them and he wants to help Aneta with baby-sitting when she comes back to work after the maternity leave.
As you probably remember, my birthday is on October 6th but I'm going to have a huge party on September 27th. Of course, you are on the top of my list of guests. I hope you'll be able to come. You could stay in Poland for a week or two and we would have a great time together. Do you like the idea? Please, let me know whether you'll manage to visit me.
