There are many things, which I remember from my childhood. I had a close friend - his name is Mariusz. We were neighbours and we spent much time together doing all kind of stuff, stupid things usually. But what would you expect from a 9-year-old boy? However, there was one deed which can be classified as extremely stupid. It was in spring. The weather was perfect. It was sunny and warm. A perfect time to go swimming or riding a bike. But we had to go to school. I remember we were very upset because of that. Suddenly one of us came with the idea of not going to school that day. It was such a beautiful day; we could do many other interesting things. Not waste our time in school. We immediately decided that we would realise that plan. We only had to find an excuse for our parents. The first thing that came to our minds was to tell them that the school was closed. It looked like a perfect explanation for our absence (we were 9 years old and could not invent a more realistically looking one). We really thought that our parents would believe us. And so, we happily went to the city "forgetting" to turn right near the school. We were wandering aimlessly for some time, looking at cars and shops. I wonder why nobody became interested what two kid were doing at 10 o'clock in the city. We had some money from our parents; we ought to buy some food in the shop in our school with it. We decided to use it differently. Do you know how a firework exploding in a bin looks like? We did not know it and we wanted to learn it very much. So we proceeded to the marketplace where we knew the explosives could be bought. Our money combined allowed us to purchase a rather big firework (again: why it was sold to two boys, I have no idea…). Excited about the event that was to happen very soon, we rushed to the park, where we knew there were plenty of bins. There were also people but we did not care. Mariusz ignited the firework and I threw it into the bin. What happened next could not be described: lots of smoke, huge noise and fire. We panicked and started running. But our escape soon ended as we were caught by an adult who shouted at us and asked where were our parents. We were so terrified that we told him everything (he was large and angry). You can imagine what happened next: he called our parents. At home I was severely punished for my deed. There were lot of tears, cry and explanations. But after a week or two the emotions faded away and we were ready to commit other stupid things.
