Reality shows were already popular in Holland when the TV owners decided to introduce them in my country.

When I saw a reality show for the first time, I enjoyed it. I remember it was the local edition of "He's Watching You". Those who took part in it just liked being told what to do and waited for the unknown future with smile and curiosity. The decisions of their secret guru were surprising, but they did whatever he commanded. The surprise was the very fun of the programme. Those who took part in the programme were a little bit crazy, but it was all right. The first programme was a success. The following ones were less attractive and their quality dropped. Now it is not so much the people who take part in the programmes but their atmosphere. They are just boring and the ideas are less and less intelligent.

The TV audience gets used even to scandals and extreme curiosities, so something new must be invented to shock the people who are not interested in watching somebody's privacy any longer.
