The Internet belongs to the greatest inventions in the history. A lot of people all over the world use the Internet every day. It offers much information from every field of our activities. However, I would like to discus the problem whether the Internet has more advantages or disadvantages.
As I have already said, the using of the Internet has a lot of advantages. Thanks to it we may learn a lot of information about different countries and cultures. We are familiar with the different people's habits, foreign languages and the ways they spend the free time. In addition, we can admire a lot of beautiful pictures presenting people and amazing landscapes. Often Internet may help us during the work. Through e-mails we can send important massages very quickly. It is much easier than writing and sending traditional letters. Moreover, thanks to the modern technologies we can even conduct an interactive conference. In means of cameras and microphones we can communicate with people all over the world. What is more, they are free to meet people from different parts of the world. To find some interesting people you should enter the chat room, register your nickname and simply join a given group. Young people can chat with people from various parts of the world, no matter where they already are. In this way we can improve our language skills.
On the other hand, the Internet has also some threats. Some children don't use it for learning, but for having fun. They spend a lot of hours before the computer screen, which may have the bad consequences for their eyes. Moreover, using the headaches may also spoil their hearing. There are some web pages, which aren't quite suitable for young people or children. Many web pages contained the violence or sexual pictures or texts.
I'm sure that the Internet is one of the greatest inventions of the modern world. It is helpful in many daily activities such as finding a job, selling or buying something. But the Internet can be the bless as well as the curse. Especially for children and young people, who easily may become addicted.
