My favourite book is 'Drunk' by Melville Bungee. It is a novel about compulsive alcohol addicts.
Emma, a girl from a good home meets Ted, a punk boy. They are both fifteen years old. The teenagers fall in love with each other and leave home. They meet Rick, who helps them and finds them a new home and friends, Lamia and Blob. Unfortunately, they drink too much. After spending some time with the friendly alcoholics, Emma and Ted start drinking heavily, too. They become pathologically addicted to alcohol. Accompanied by Lamia and Blob, they must shoplift and steal things from supermarkets to have drinks and food. They go by in this way for a couple of years.
Some day Emma gets pregnant; then she stops drinking and gives birth to a baby. Then she leaves her friends and comes back home. Emma doesn't want to see Ted, the father of her daughter any longer, yet she meets him from time to time. Nevertheless, the young mother tries to start a new life.
I think that this book is worth reading. 'Drunk' is a serious warning against alcohol abuse.
