My best friend's name is Joanna. I've known her for nine years. We are in the same class at school. She is sixteen years old (like me). She has got green eyes (which look a little like cat's eyes), short, black hair, very fair skin and round face. When she laughs, in her cheeks appear dimples. She is slim and neither tall nor short. She leads an active life, so she likes wearing practical and comfortable clothes - jeans, t-shirts and flannel shirts. Joanna likes reading books, swimming and cycling. In summer she usually goes to the mountains. Her favourite subjects at school are maths and physics. In the future she would like to study at the university, preferably abroad. This is why she wants to know English perfectly and she learns it not only at school, but also at home. She watches TV programmes in English and reads English books to enrich her vocabulary. I don't know how she manages to find time for all those activities...
As to her character, she is very cheerful, nice and helpful. This is why people generally like her. She is very trustworthy and dependable and she makes a good leader when there is something to organize or arrange. She has a great sense of humour. She has a strong character and so have I, and this is why we sometimes quarrel. But I know that whatever happens, Joanna is and remains my friend and that I can trust her absolutely.
