Ecstasy is a kind of drugs and its popularity among young people is still growing. Ecstasy called just "E" is usually taken during parties in nightclubs or discotheques. Its chemical structure is known as methylenedioxymethamphetamine, in short MDMA. Ecstasy is a kind of hallucinogenic drugs, which is produced from the oils of vegetables such as saffron or parsley. In some parties of the world ecstasy is called "hug drug". It is named after the most characteristic symptoms which can be observed after its taking. We can feel heat and love. It is also a very powerful drug. After taking we get a lot of energy. After a half a hour blood pressure is risen, pupils of your eyes are dilated and you seem to loose coordination. By taking ecstasy the serotonin is released. Neurohormon contained in this drug helps you to change your state of consciousness. It is shown by empathy for others or the lack of anxiety. These reasons make a lot of people to take ecstasy, but we must be aware that taking MDMA may also addict and when you take an overdose it may cause the death. According to the British statistics since 1988 at least 50 young people have already died because of overdose the ecstasy. But the overdose may not be the only one reason of their death. It is said that dehydration of body and hyperthermia caused by the substances contained in this drug can also cause the death.
After taking ecstasy you fell full of energy, so you can spend all night long dancing without rest and the temperature of your body is still increasing. To avoid the dehydration a lot of water should be drunk. But the situation seems to be more complicated, because of the fact that in some clubs the bathroom taps are turned off to make people spend more money in a bar. The most dangerous is mixing ecstasy with other drugs. Sometimes tablets may be contaminated by some harmful substances, which can cause the death.
Because of the fact that drug traffic and taking drugs is illegal, a very few scientific researches are done about MDMA. Nobody knows exactly which consequences can the drug brought. There was a case last November, when the British young girl died after taking the ecstasy tablet to celebrate her 18th birthday. She drank too much water which diluted the blood. The diluted blood was taken by the brain cells. Then the cells were becoming bigger and it results in coma and finally death. Her father during the press conference showed her picture lying in a coma to warn young people of taking of ecstasy. However it doesn't seem that the taking of MDMA will be lower.
