My Dear Sally,
Thank you very much for the latter you sent me from the USA. Excuse me that I have not been writing to you for such a long time. I was in Barcelona for last two months.
I decided to go to Spain for my holiday, because I found an offer of the job and the language course. I was working as a waitress in a café in the center of Barcelona. Our costumers were mostly very rich foreigners and they would give me very high tips.
The Spanish lessons were really interesting and I had great fun learning the language. We had a really nice teacher. His name was Pedro. He was very young and charming- he was a student of literature from Barcelona. He was tall and slim, he had dark eyes and black hair. There were 8 people in the class and 5 of them were girls. All the girls wanted to get to know him better. He was very nice to all of us, but he did not seem interested in meeting us after classes. However, one day he came to the café, where I worked. He was surprised to see me. We talked a little bit and he said that he would wait until I finish my work and that afterwards he wanted to invite me for a drink. I did not know, what to say… We went to a club. I met a group of his friends there and we talked and danced the whole night. At 7 AM Pedro walked me home. It was the great night. I met many interesting people. they were all so friendly and open that I did not feel stressed and I was even talking to them in Spanish…
Me and Pedro would meet many times after that. He would come to the café and we spent many nights dancing and talking. I think I fell in love a little bit… He invited me to visit his home and I met his parents. I felt adored taken care of. I got to know that Pedro's grandmother was Polish and that his further family lives near Poznań. I spent really terrible time with him. We were both very sad, when I had to go back to Poland. I hope he will come to visit me in November. But I already miss him very much and I do not know, if such relationship has a chance to last.
Moreover, I visited many interesting places in Spain. Together with a group of other people from Poland we traveled to Madrid and to Santiago de Campostella. I was really amazed by these places. It is so beautiful in Spain… I hope to be able to live there some day.
And what was your holiday like? How did you like the USA? Did you have to work hard? And what about the family, you stayed at? Were they nice? Did the children like you?
I hope we will meet soon. There is so much I want to tell you. I also want to listen to your American stories. Perhaps we could make an appointment and meet next weekend? I could come to Warsaw, or you might come to Poznań. What do you think?
I hope to hear from you and to see you soon.
With love,
Joanna
