Nowadays, the most important problem for the whole world seem to be the wars. Each day numerous men, women and children die in the fights. Why can't we stop wars? Are wars really inevitable?
There are several factors, which lead to the wars. Most important, the conflicts happen when one country decides to take over the territory of the other one. When the second world war started, Hitler wanted to have all European countries ruled by Germans. Even today, similar conflicts happen, but their scale is relatively smaller. Another type of international conflict make those wars, which are based on religious believes. Wars based on religion are going on in many parts of the world. The most important conflict of this type is the one in the Middle East. For me, it is difficult to imagine, why people kill others and commit suicides for the sake of religion. In my mind, it is a matter of hatred towards all people, who live in a different way. The attacks of terrorists are terrible and each one is followed by the other. Thousands of civil people die every day in such wars, but no one is able to stop either side from fighting.
There is one other very important kind of war, called "the war against terrorism". It became most popular after the 11th September 2001, when the terrorists attacked civilians in New York. President of the US declared to fight against any kind of terror in the world. I think that he should have thought about it more thoroughly before he decided on such war. Bush's reaction was not reasonable. He simply started another great war. American army started military actions in Afghanistan, without any good plan, killing many innocent people. I wouldn't call it 'a war against terrorism'... The soldiers were not even able to capture the most dangerous terrorist- Osama bin Laden. Although he is so dangerous, he seems to be smarter than the whole American army.
Summing up, I think that wars are evil and we should do anything to prevent them. However, contemporary world seems to be unable to live without wars. If we cannot stop the, we should at least do our best to make their effects less severe.
