My favourite sportsman is a football player Ronaldo. He was born in Rio de Janeiro on 22nd September 1976. He is tall, he has 183 cm. He played football when he was a child and in school. At the age of 17 he become a champion of football. It was in 1994. In 1998 he was a deputy champion. The most important event in his life was the Fifa World Cup in 2002. He wanted to show that he is a good player. He did not have luck in Japan and Korea and this World Cup was important for him. The coach took him to the team in 2002 and Ronaldo scored 8 goals in all matches. He proved that he is a very good shooter and the coach was happy that he chose him.
Ronaldo took part in 33 matches since 1999. He was injured many times during the matches and for some time he was disabled. He had few operations of his knee. The first time was in 1996. He had the worst injury between 1998 and 2002. He injured his knee in 1998 and in 2000 he wanted to play. When he entered the pitch he was injured again in the same knee. Since 2002 he feels ok and can play. He is one of the best football players in the world. He is worth about 55,000,000 Euro nowadays.
