But you should buy some equipment. Especially the helmet is important because at some time you may fall from the horse. It is very possible when you are jumping over obstacles for the first time or try to gallop. Later, when you start riding often you can buy more stuff. To start riding you must find a stud that is near your home, go there and apply for the lessons. That is how I started riding a horse. It is a wonderful way of spending your free time.
