It is guaranteed in the Polish constitution that every citizen is equal. To be honest, there are a lot of people who think conversely. They are against the incoming of other ethnic groups to our country. People who think so are called racists. There is also other group of people in Poland who think that our nation is the best and hate other nations. They are known as the nationalists.
It is said that women are often discriminated. It happens especially in working places. Employers are afraid of hiring young women, who probably soon will get pregnant and decide to stop working. What is more, there is still a difference between earnings of women and men. Even though they are fulfilling the same duties and work in the same conditions, women earn less then men. Women are also limited in choosing their jobs. They couldn't take up the job which is though typical male. For many men it is hard to imagine the situation that a woman could work as a miner or a solder, even if she has great predispositions.
There are different kinds of discrimination. It results from that most of us are afraid of something strange we don't know. Unfortunately, the discrimination will exist as long as the stupid prejudices in our mind. We couldn't tell that our nation is tolerant unless we got rid of our unfair opinions.
