In my opinion, London is a really very beautiful city. There are numerous museums, where one can see original exhibitions, old markets, several parks, where one can rest and enjoy the green grass and trees and many places for entertainment, like shopping centers, clubs, pubs and similar.
The river Thames flows through London. The city is situated quite close to the sea. The Roman tribes founded it in the year 43. William the Conqueror was the founder of the Tower of London, which was built in 1066. nowadays this building is one of the most famous monuments in London. In the Medieval Ages London was one of the biggest cities in Europe- there lived more than 50 thousand people.
The Great Fire burnt most of the city in 1666. The city suffered the second great damage during the World War II, when it was attacked by the Germans.
Today London has the population of about 7 million people. They live in the city and in the surroundings. The city is considered a center of trade and culture. The British Royal family lives there. For the visitors, one of the most interesting things to watch is Changing of the Guards by the Buckingham Palace.
London is also famous of its great stores, one of which is Harrods. However, the place, which every visitor wants to see, when in the city, is the British Museum. There one can see several pieces of art from different parts of the world. When in London, one can visit also one of the theatres.
In London and its districts and suburbs, one can travel by the underground, by buses, trains and taxis. There are also 3 airports next to the city- the biggest one is Heathrow and the other are Stansed and Gatwick.
In the capital city of England live many famous people- actors, musicians and other artists. One can meet them walking on the streets or admire the wax figures resembling them in the museum at Madame Tussaud's.
I advice everyone to go and see this city themselves. It is really worth visiting.
