My favorite actor comes from Spain, from the town Malaga. He was born on 10th August, 1960. His full name is Jose Antonio Dominguez Banderas. His parents chose those names, because his father's name was Jose and his mother's brother's name was Antonio. He had a brother- Francisco Javier. Antonio's mother worked as a teacher.
From his early years, Banderas knew, what to do with his life. He chose acting as a way of living and making money. He attended acting classes, although his parents disapproved of it. Together with his friends he started their own theatrical troupe. They were traveling all around Spain. They made performances on the streets. When he was 21 years old, he moved to the capital city of Spain- Madrid. He managed to become a member of one of the most famous theaters in Spain- National Theatre of Spain. To earn his living he needed to do several jobs. He was a waiter, he cleaned others' houses and did other things. He played in many performances. Once, after the play, he got to know Pedro Almodovar, who at that time was considered the most avant-garde and gifted movie director in Spain. Pedro and Antonio soon became friends. Together they managed to make some of the most respectable and famous movies ever. The audience from the world got to know Antonio Banderas in 1988, when the film "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" appeared in the cinemas.
Antonio was chosen by the director- Arne Glimcher- to play in the film "The Mambo Kings", although Antonio couldn't speak English at that time. He started to take lessons and soon was able to speak quite fluently. The next film Banderas played in was "Philadelphia". He started to make a real career. He kept on playing in more and more movies. The best known are: "The House of the Spirits" (1993), "Desperado" (1995), "Interview with the Vampire" and many more. He proved to be not only especially talented actor, but dancer and singer as well. We could admire his numerous skills in "Evita". He played strong as well as romantic characters. His friends and his fans were very surprised to learn that he wants to get married. He and Melanie Griffith married in 1996. Soon after that, their first child- Stella del Carmen- was born.
