Dear Mrs. Kowalska
I am writing to ask you to accept my resignation from the post of a Marketing Manager. I derive a lot of satisfaction from the job and appreciate friendly working atmosphere in the company, however my family situation compels me to resign.
My mother has recently had a dangerous car accident. Her spinal cord has been damaged and as the result my her right arm is paralysed. My mother has been in hospital for two months now and her rehabilitation is due to begin next month. Only intensive rehabilitation gives a chance that my mother will not be disabled. Moreover, not only her physical condition is bad. She is suffering from post-accident trauma and the doctors advice that she spend a lot of time with family as she need a lot of care and love at the moment. Being employed full time and having such a responsible job, I will not be able to devote my mother as much time as she needs. Therefore I must resign my post.
I am very sorry to ask you to accept my resignation but I have no other alternative. I hope you understand my situation.
