Money is needed everywhere and people are unable to live without money on this cruel world. But why money is so important? Why it has so much influence on humans' life? I think that I do not have to argue that money is not the most important thing in the universe. However, not all men understand that.
The people who are rich now usually had to work very hard to acquire the money and because of that they are respected. However, there was a price for it: it often happens that money is earned at the cost of the family life. I rely strongly on my parents and they support me very often. They help me whenever I need it. I also help them when they need assistance. Families are the basic units of communities and if they suffer, the whole society is hurt with them. The people who want to become rich often neglect their families. They spend all their time and energy to gaining more and more money, in order to realise their ambition. The results of it are tragic: many marriages ended in divorce, families were broken and relations between people finished. However, the people whose one and the only goal is to earn money, are not worried by those events. They cannot think like normal people and to me it is horrible and strange behaviour. They do not even try to undo their actions and re-establish relationship with those people. Eventually, they are living alone in big houses, having more money that they can use. In the end they die and then nobody comes to their funeral except for the woman who takes care of their house. They understand their mistakes only when they are witnesses to such a story. Then they learn that there are things more important than money, for example family and friends. To finish this part of the essay I would like to present a real history from the past. It is a story about a very rich family that lived during the Second World War. Before the war they had everything, they ate the best food, had the best, most expensive clothes and lived in a huge house. But during the war, the Russian drove them away from their home and took all their belongings. They had nothing and were forced to eat bare bread and drink only water. But they had themselves and because of that they survived.
There is another point that I would like to consider. It is possible to earn much money quickly but it is also possible to loose them in a very short time. Let's consider the stock exchange that is a popular way of making money. There is always possibility that a market crash would occur and quickly make the rich people very poor. We know one such happening in the history: it was the market crash in the 1929 in New York. Because of this event a depression came and made many people very poor.
At the end of this essay I would like to say once again what I think about money. Earning them should not be regarded as the only aim of life. We should remember that money is only a mean, not the end. Of course, we should earn it and then spend but we must remember that gaining it is not the sole goal of our existence. I believe that the people who are obsessed with making money loose something important: other people. If they do not realise that money will someday go away from them and only feelings will remain they will waste their lives. Friendship and love to other people should be the number one in our lives.
