I lost my backpack during a school trip recently.
It happened on the second day of our trip to the mountains. We stopped at a busy bus station to change buses, and in all the rush and confusion, I must have left my backpack on a bench while I was helping a friend with her suitcase. I only noticed it was missing twenty minutes later, when we were already on the next bus. Honestly, I panicked at first - my phone, wallet and camera were all inside! I felt really stupid for not paying more attention. My teacher tried to calm me down and immediately called the bus station office to report it.
Because of the stress, I couldn't focus on the rest of the sightseeing that afternoon and kept checking my phone for updates instead of enjoying the view.
Luckily, a member of staff at the station had found my backpack and handed it in to lost property. My teacher picked it up for me the next morning, and everything was still inside - what a relief!
